i just moved to a new city. there is really nobody at work with similar interests. anybody have any good suggestions on how they dealt with this situation?

i've never moved... what part did you move too? out in cali people talk to you everywhere you go....
i would say start at the gym... i dont know how social you are when you lift but you might want to give it a try....currently cutting:

If you're into cars join a car club and start talking. I'm in a Mopar car club and I got to know the president of it pretty well and he's always showing me these old muscle cars. Just this Sunday, he showed me a Plymouth Duster. And it's a nice one

i like those ideas. softball, and car clubs. i used to be into cars, but its been awhile. i may start that up again.
im also pretty reclusive at the gym. i like my zone too, but i think its a good point to try to talk to people before or after....and not during.

I was thinking about volunteering for the Special Olympics or the Animal shelter - something like that.Comment

My uncle has downs syndrome - I have done a lot of work for the Special Olympics in the past, just not where I am living now.Comment

I am also in the same boat bro. Use it to your advantage and keep your head in the gym. You will have friends before u know it. Ive been in my new city for almost 3 months and i know many people know. Just dont worry about it. they will come.Comment

Have been in a new city for 3 years. Still no friends to speak of. Stop for a beer with the guys after work, but really nothing in common to hang out. The plus is, I have gotten alot closer with my wife and two girls, since we do most everything together.SUPERMOD@ LORDSOFIRON.COM (invite only)
