  • So WTF happened with the Staton (sp?) island ferry?

The captain ran the boat into the pylons at near full speed. 10 dead, dozens injured.. then the captain fled the scene and attempted to comit suicide at home?

What the heck? He must have been drunk or stoned or something.

I kinda figured he fell asleep at the wheel.

When you look at the accident... it looks like the boat never made the attempt to turn into the dock..couple that with the fact that it didn't slow down. Sounds alot like he fell asleep and didn't make the corner...but why flee the scene and try to comit suicide? Obviously it was more than pain killers, or he wasn't supposed to be operateing "heavy equipment" while taking them.

That's the case with most pain meds.

So either way, looks like he's facing legal consequences.

he prolly took off cause he was in a panic knowing he killed at least 10 people so I suppose just wanted to end his life.

One of those people that died was my electrician, young good guy too, very sad.

If the Verrzano was free those 10 ppl would have not died........ we get f**ked all the time.......... the damn bright was supposed to be free by now but no the MTA has to give us the trains free witch we never use anyway and make 4 bucks of us in only one trip over it when we could get an MTA one day fun pass from the train for 4 bucks and go on the train all day for only 4 bucks........... see how we get f**ked.

I'd been to New York before 9/11. Rode the ferry to Staten Island. Hope the pilot didn't kill any musicians on it. Because that's gonna be a major damper for the music community
RIP Gearedup and Marc. I'll see you at the crossroads someday guys
