  • R1's dead, I'm alive but missing parts....

did you all miss me? last Wednesday I got into a wreck on my R1. I hit some pea gravel on a rural road and it knocked my back tire out from underneath me. I was doing about 40 mph in shorts and a tank top (heading to the gym, close to home you know!)

Long story short I impacted an embackment of rock. I have little road rash but got choppered out to Santa Rosa(1 hr north of frisco) trauma center from my local hospital. I lacerated my spleen and fractured 6 ribs and got a pulmonary contusion on my left lung which shut it down. I spent 6 days in ICU and another 3 in recovery. I just got home, lungs a little better, I'm minus a spleen, and my ribs hurt like hell....basically I'm in hell right now. I've already dropped from 212 to 198 and I'm sure there's more to be lost.....

    ...thanks for caring....

thanks for the thoughts. My bike is actually going to be very repairable (no structure damage and plastic isn't that off also, main problem is dash, screen, light assembly portion, which broke off)

As far as healing, last night I had a set back and had to go to the ER and have my incision reopened to clean a infection. So now I have an open wound healing from the inside out, I have to go to the hospital every 8 hours for antibiotic IV drip, and I'm losing my mind!!!!

If I didn't have my lady around I don't know what I would do. She has been by my side every second whichi is making this bearable!

                              thanks, all.
