Z28 is a V8 yeah Heads/cam/headers/TB/air duct work that sort of thing, stock bottom end, it was done on a budget.

These are RWHP numbers, with an ignition miss costing me about 15-20 HP, and about 13% DTL (drivetrain loss).

I had a Mustang once, 97 Slobra, very comfortable to drive and own, sounded great, but go-kart sized engine and sitting like a 4x4 turned me off. Overall I just didn't like it as a handling platform, but for a casual car its very nice. The Camaro is more aggressive IMO, and I think thats one of the things that hurt it selling, I have to bend over to get in the car, its not as comfy (back can hurt on 800 mile trips), and that sort of thing, plus GM did almost zero advertising for it, they probably dont have alot of people that care from within the company anyway.

Now look at me, driving a 2.4L engine car from 73 heh, but I love the grip, I only have 195-60x15s on there right now but still on a 2200 pound car that makes for serious stick. I have a 2.8L F54 block sitting around waiting a rebuild, aiming for maybe 250-270 HP but it is with a certain cam range in mind as a street car, so whatever I get is what I get. I was tempted to go turbo but on a road race car that brings in serious complications in terms of heat, and the package is more costly to start with, and moreover you always have the possibility of a component failure nuking the engine. Timing retard, BOV, or whatever, it has happened. Someone lost thier BOV, went 1psi over and nuked a 5k engine, just like that, on a "street car", went from 25 to 26 PSI and it could take no more, detonation and instant death. Too much BS for me. Plus, road cars dont need the horsepower as much as they need handling, bigger more open tracks though it can start to hurt, I may throw a V8 in it though (probably LT1, cheap computer tuning, www.tunercat.com , 6 speed, and overall a good bargain compared to an LS1).

A V8 in a 2200 pound or less car, would really wake it up.... plus I could go with a bigger cam and shoot for 520 HP if I was really stupid or go solid and aim for more, but again there is a point where overkill is overkill, and solid rollers = more cost and maintenance.

Sounds great mudge...you know your shit! That's very true of the camaro's though....very uncomfortable to ride in and get in/out of! Good luck on future mods you do, I'll be adding a few to my next Stang I get!

I'm a car nut, which explains my greasy and busted knuckles today thanks to the last two days of brake and other suspension work

The Camaro is less of a compromise, where I felt like the Mustang was kinda like an Escort with more power, and sorta better looks, but the headlights on almost every Ford seem the same bland style. Ford V8s sounds great though, the LS1s have the same firing order now too.

The 240Z is even harder to get into (no supprise), you really have to fold yourself in half on that one. I dont know how I'm going to get a helmet to fit but I'll find out, somehow...

Are you getting a newer Stang or an old 5.0 or ? I live in CA, so one of my big things for me now is NO MORE MODERN CARS, I want no smog BS to deal with any longer

Do you know where one builds action, stamina and guts? In the gym under the iron day after day, forever without fail or excuses or grumbling, that’s where. It’s true. I read a study somewhere and that’s what it said, really.

There’d be fewer battles, less drugs and less crime and more happy moms and dads if we all lifted weights… let’s face it. In what recent medical journal was I reading that?
