I have purchased and enjoy both of the following products:
Self-spotting dumbells with olympic collars:
Shermworks
And the Ironmind Hip Belt:
IronMind
You can pick both of them up for about $250 total. Along with some olympic weights, you can -really- push yourself without a spotter.

Is anyone else glad that there is now an Olympic Weight Tree and Bar Rack combined. The one area in my house that is always neat and clean is the weight room. PeaceComment

I use fitness factory equipment, but get it locally at sports authority. Make friends with the owners and you can get about 1/2 off everythign like me.
I have body by solid pro power cage, pro lat machine with lower cable, tbar row attatchement, pro commercial flat/incline/decline bench, and soon will have some weight trees
That and about 800lbs in weights, some bands, chains, boxes, and boards. Ill build a reverse hyper soon. I have an 8'X8' 1" thick plywood platform with 1/4" rubber coating that by power cage is bolted to in the middle.
Add on a powerblock set.... and I can think of anything else that I would ever need.
Not including the powerblocks, I have about 1000 invested, but retail it would be about 1500-1700.
