I thought I would share this, its funny in a way, i'll try to explain what happened the best I can so you can get the mental picture.
When it rains, I take my dogs from the backyard and put them into my front garage. I can't bring them thru the house because they are muddy, so I take them around the side gate and into the garage. Sounds simple enough of a procedure right?
Well, the doberman chases cars, so I have to put him on a leash before I open the gate, the leash I have is one of those retractable ones, it extends out to about 30ft before it stops.
The gate is a wooden swinging gate, I open it and they run out full speed, perfect timing a car is driving by, I step in what I think is dog shit, so I stop to look down, the gate swings shut and locks. I'm on one side of the gate, the dog is on the other, he's 95lbs and running full speed for the car. I know not to let go of the leash or he will get ran over.
At 30ft, the leash catches and I go crashing thru the gate tearing it off the hinges completely face down in the mud, my hand is all cut up and my shoulder hurts. Thru it all, I did not let go of the leash.
