What software are you using? Because i assume you mean onto a dvd as dvd-video not pc-data... mpeg-1 is nowhere near the quality of dvd-video. While avi, if you use teh divx/mpeg-4 format with the avi-extension, comes discernably close to dvd quality.

I am using NTI CD Maker 2000 Plus. I have burned movies before with it but when I try to burn a movie that says its avi it says invalid MPEG file Format.

ok, right click on your *.avi file and the third selection should be summary. Under the 'video' header, ther shoudl be a 'video compression' entry and that should list a code. Can you tell me what the code is? IE: Microsoft *.avi video code.

Surgarbaby It say summary properties are unavailable for the selected source. I dont see any thing that says video header at all!

well, lets do this. My buddy is testing some new software from Pinnacle/VOB and he said that if he can get it up and running he will have a concrete solution for you by Friday. Can you wait til then? If so, just shoot me a PM on Friday to remind me and I will have some answers for you. Good luck in the meantime!

You are going to have to upgrade to windows 2000 or XP. ME uses FAT32 file system and it can't handle files over 4 GB. When you do DVD stuff you can get files bigger then 4 GB. Also video editing is not real easy stuff to do/explain. Go read up at these sites.
