My Captain in my office is korean, I asked him about this once. He said that they beat dogs to death before they eat them. There is something toxic in there bodies that causes the meat to be really nasty. So by beating them to death, they sweat out all the toxins and the meat is "good". It's nasty to us, but its normal to them. probably some cultures think we're nasty for eating cows, ya know? It's all different cultures. Plus, over there, dogs aren't domesticated like they are here.

Man, those asians are truely weird!
I watched a program on the Knowledge network about their eating habits.
They're very big on "fresh" seafood. Often cooking live seafood right at their table.
The 1 menu item they showed was especially disgusting. They take a large live fish.. yank it out of the water, quickly roll it in some breading and dunk everything except the head in boiling oil for only about 45seconds.
Then they yank the fish out of the cooking oil, slap it on a plate, and quickly bring it out to the customers. Man it was so disgusting to see this asian family picking away at this fish with their chopsticks....while the damn fish is still alive... gills moving and everything....RIP BigJim33 & GearedUp: You are sorely missed my friends.
Hindsight is always 20/20. But looking back it's still a bit fuzzy.Comment

no, i'm seriously saying that they DO NOT. that article is some piece of propagandistic garbage put together by some kid who's got an agenda.
perhaps 0.0001% of the population has eaten "exotic" animal, but as a rule, WE CHINESE people do NOT eat dog.
we eat pork, duck, geese, chicken, fish, and beef. but dog is NOT a part of our diet thank you.

koreans i have no comments about, but i'm Chinese and can tell you i've never eaten dog, will never consider eating dog, and know of no one that has ever, or will ever eat dog.
i know one guy who was stationed in korea who has had dog, but korea - china - big difference.Comment

i am an immigrant. i moved from Taiwan when i was 8. i can personally tell you that there is a law in Taiwan - and i believe in China as well which outlaws the consumption of domestic animals such as dogs and cats.
sorry to be such a pisser. the weather is HORRIBLE and i think i have a case of seasonal affectiveness disorder in the freakin' end of May b/c it hasn't gone over 60 degrees in like 10376127 days.
