What kind of pistol would you guys get? I was thinking a 9mm semi auto type, but I am open to suggestions. Please this is a serious post. I am going to buy one today, so please no .50 d eagles or crazy shit. Would prefer brand also-crombie09
get whatever kind you think will fit up your ass most comfortably.
The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.
Originally posted by saturn Over the years I have carried several different side arms for work. My favorite was my glock 21. I carried that as a service weapon for 5 years until I was required to change to a .40 cal and I switched to the glock 22. The 21 chambers .45cal. It is a little big so if you have small hands it might not work for you. I also carried a Smith & Wesson for a while. It was simmilar to the 5906 that Smith currently makes. The only problem I had with that gun was the back site got caught when I would draw the gun.
I know alot of people will turn thier noses up at the glock but it was by far the best service weapon I have had or tried.
If he's not a shooter, how about a snub .32 cal? Easy to hold, point and shoot, plus not too expensive. Glock is a good, serviceable pistol, IMO.

Originally posted by saturn I have a Ruger speed six that is a great revolver. I'm not a fan of .32 or .38. I had to use a Smith .38 special when I first started working in law enforcement and was going through skills classes. I hated that weapon. I was real happy when the department allowed us to go to a semi auto.
Agreed. However, I found when I was teaching the wife how to shoot and until she was proficient enough to handle a .357 revolver (4") the .32 was a good, all around personal protection pistol. Most who have little range time are usually decent with this type of pistol at 10' or less - where it counts if you're trying to protect yourself.
I leave the Dirty Harry stuff to skilled shooters like yourself, and don't like to carry as my own personal preference.
