International Flights

hey all, I gotta quick question about int'l flights....I couldnt seem to find the answer on americanairlines.com...so maybe some of you avid flyers, for business or whatever else can help me...

Im flying to Europe this summer from here in the States...I fly out of Minneapolis...but then to DC, then to NY, and then finally to Europe. My flight leaves at 7, or 8 am, so I have to be at the airport early regardless....but...heres the question...I know you have to be there extra early for int'l flights, but does that take effect in Minneapolis??? Do I have to get to the airport here to register/whatever for the Int'l flight, or is all that taken care of in NY, before I ACTUALLY leave for Europe....

If anyone knows that would be great...Thanx a lot.

yeah you get to MN, 3-4 hours before depending......... and the rest is taken care...

i would not get there any longer than 1.5 hours... i'm the type of person who shows up 30 min before my flight....

i never understood the point of showing up earlier for intl flights than for domestic flights. made no sense to me. the only extra check they do is make sure you have a passport (and visa if necessary) so that you get get into the country you're travelling to.

if your flight is at 7, getting there at 6, you're probably fine.

they'll check your passport and tag your luggage through to Europe from MN. Then they'll just check your passport again when you board the flight in NY.

1.5 - 2 hours is early enough since you have so many connections and it's early to begin with. I'd try to do more than an hour in case the checkin line is slow.
