  • Help waking up....

I'm hoping you guys can give me some advice here.

I have flex hours at my job, I can arrive anytime between 7 and 9am. I have to work 8 hours a day with 1 hour for lunch, so if I arrive at 7, then I can leave at 4. 8-5, or 9-6.

Well everynight I set my alarm with the goal to get here at 7, so I can get off at 4. I always snooze and get to work at 9am no matter what. I have good intentions, but can never get up I guess because I don't have to.

What can I do to get my ass out of bed? I love to sleep I have like 8 pillows on my bed, I put one in between my legs and sunggle up with all the other ones and have my ac like on 69 so its cold. Ok I know you didn't need to hear about me snuggling with pillows (tmi), but what can I do to get my ass out of bed?

LM.. this is a matter of habit.

I know it's hard, but try to force yourself to get out of bed as soon as the alarm wakes you up.

OR.. try this. Get a radio alarm clock and set it to go off right before the morning news. Wake up to the morning news, get out of bed when the news is over.

Putting the alarm clock out of reach is a good idea as well. Mine is across the room.

Discipline brother. Used to have the same problem, find something that you just cant sleep with, when I would get up, Id flip the lights on, once the lights are on, my eyes adjust and I cant go back to bed.

I was thinking about buying a timer and hooking up everything to it, the lights, my tv and make the alarm go off too all at once.

                Question?

Do you have trouble falling asleep when you go to bed?
ie, do you fall right to sleep, or 1/2 hr., an hour of mind rambling etc.

I cannont fall asleep at night, I toss and turn, my mind is going 100 mph. It usually takes about an hour before I actually fall asleep, but I sleep like a champ in the morning hours...

Hire some big mothers to come over and beat the living shit out of you if they catch you sleeping. Just be sure to tell them you dont work on Sat and Sun. Because we all like to sleep in sometimes.

well I hit the gym around 7pm, get home around 9pm, cook chicken breast with either mixed vegatables, rice, or beans as a side.

Eat around 10pm attempt to sleep around 11 (if i'm not online chatting with Bigjim) finally fall asleep around 12.

AND if you wake me up within the first two hours of me falling asleep, I will not be able to go back to bed for at least 3-4 more hours.

                          Question III?

When the alarm goes off, are you groggy?
When you finally get up does it take your body 1/2hr or so to really get going?

                            YES and YES

most of the time I don't even remember hitting snooze. When I fall asleep my mind is clear and i'm like "hell yeah i'm getting up early"

and then when the alarm goes off I'm a different person, can't think at all, just hit snooze and feel like i'm in the twilight zone. Then about 30 minutes after being awake, I catch my snap and get pissed at myself for not getting up like I said I would the night before.

keep a bottle of hot pepper sauce by your bedside when you hear the alarm put it all over your johnson, i guarantee you will want to get up and get in the shower. if not set your alarm an hour earlier than you should get up take an eca then when the alarm goes off at your time to wake you will be wired and unable to sleep.
