Anyone have one of these places in your city?
Im thinking of getting involved in bringing something like this to my city. I might even go and speak at the next city council meeting. We have the poorest health and most obesity of any city in the state. I think we need a rec center.
    Something like this place

We have a really nice one I used to go to, but the monthly dues is to high. Go do it Dzone! You have been wanting to get some talks out so do it and throw something about animals in there too! Maybe try to get on the board? That would give you a chance to change things.

There was one in a place i used to live. They had all sorts of summer programs/camps, adult classes (CPR, ESL, etc.), and year round activities for kids and teens (basketball, music lessons, sailing, etc.). It was a step up from the Y next city over.

It will be an long term investment in time, money, and test of patience. The town will need to have a budget for it and you will be dealing with adults that make the most troublesome child seem like an angel in comparison. However, if you can make something like that happen Dzone you would be making a big difference and a positive change to your community.
