Last night after our spin class, my wife and I were talking about face color. After the class, her face is blood red as many in the class are. She says that my face turns white instead of red after the class. I mean, I didn't feel no where near as out of breath as she was and actually had a very good class. What's the difference? Is one any worse than the other? Is it an oxygen or blood flow issue? Just curious

Ok, that makes sense. I was afraid it might be the other way around"He woke up because I kept punching him in the face." --Thiago Alves

I have to politely disagree with you. My face ALWAYS gets red after a hard workout, and I dont think that has anything at all to do with me not getting enough oxygen. I work hard, I sweat alot, and my face turns red!
My kids are the same way, both of them get really red faces after working out, I think it just varies person to person........just my opinion my friend!

When you work out, your body produces heat. One way that your body makes sure it doesn't overheat is by sweating but your body also increases blood circulation to the skin's surfaces, so the heat can be radiated off . Warm, oxygenated blood rushes to your face, turning it that bright red color.

Re: Intense cardio and face color
Sometimes my skin will be whiter or clamy-er or whatever after a really hard workout. Like say my first day back from like a vacation or something and I do a hard squat and deadlift day. As long as youre not feeling bad then I would think its prob no biggie. If my face is white its prob cause i just killed myself and the lactic acid is making me want to puke.
