  • pain from wrist to elbow...

    when I curl useing a straight-bar.
It can get extremely painful. It only happens when curling straight-bar, and if I use the closer angle grips with the curl bar. The pain is sharp and runs from inside my wrist to my elbow. It almost feels like it's between my bones. (running from the middle of the inside wrist, up through my forearm, and almost makes it to my elbow.) I just flat-out can't curl with straight-bar unless it's on the smith-machine, for some reason. The curl bar is okay if I use the wider, outside angles. If I use the inside angles with heavy weight, and just turn loose of the bar quickly after a set, it kills my wrists. Right arm worse than left. much worse. It's strange though. If I slowly set the weight down, and don't release it immediately, then I can almost make the pain nonexistant.
    What is that?

I've had this happen to me, mine was a pinched nerve.

Does it feel like its in the joint, inside the bone and runs down..??Ive had this happen..and i think the guy above is right. Its a nerve..or just maybe over doin it with the weights. U might want to try doin lighter weights for awhile and take some Glucosamine and Chondroitin or DMSO ea precursor to MSM. You can get regular MSM or the above at any health/supplment store. DMSO you can rub on the joints and maybe help relieve the pain over time, but im sure lowering the weight for awhile plus using these combined might be a better combination. Just a suggestion.

        Thanks much for the suggestions!
It does feel like it could be a nerve getting pinched. Or a tendon that runs between the bons in my forearm. It's messed with me for years. Sometimes I forget about it, and then if I do something just right, or wrong, it'll let me know for a few days.
That anti-inflamatory that they pulled from the shelves used to work wonders. umm...what was that called?..started with a V??? idk. It's gone now.
I need to give some of those listed above a try.
        Thanks again.
