  • Gym vs house??

So I have some equipment upstairs and have used that in the past. I need to lose some weight and start working out again but I can't seem to get motivated. It seems like having this stuff upstairs gives me too much of an out to not work out. I can't seem to find the motivation to go upstairs and do it.

So, I am thinking that I may be better off to join a gym and just hit the gym on the way home from work. What do you guys think? Would joining the gym give me more motivation? Anyone have experience with this same situation?

lol...i go back and forth. i dont have a prob working out with my home gym, i just get board after a few months and i want other equiment! i just get the rutine going, like anything else, and it just keeps going. the home gym is WAY more conveinent for time sake and with a family, it works out way better...but...then i there's the "board of the same ol' equipment" thing. for me, i can use the home gym all winter. it more set up for multi joint workouts. squats, dead's, benches, press's...shyt like that....then, spring comes and i join the gym until late fall

Yeah. My problem is once I get home, I have stuff that I end up doing around the house instead of working out. I'm thinking that if I joined the gym and hit it on the way home, then it may work out better. Not to mention that they have a bigger variety of equipment

I LIKE THE CONVENIENCE OF THE HOUSE, BUT YOUR MINDSET IS DIFFERENT IN A GYM... YOU TEND TO HIT IT HARDER AT A GYM I THINK

Maybe if I can get to the gym and get back in the routine, then I will use the house equipment more. Or I may just sell it and stick to the gym...save a lot of room in the house.

i have home and have for twenty years, yet, i've had memberships on and off for variety

i really think getting back on the hosre is a baby step thing, get 3 weeks of wins under your belt where u do better each day each week, i don't care where or how or what the strategy is, u will have to grind out those 3 weeks of wins, get rid of present bad habits replace with new good habits

society is so hyper focused on the now, it does not jive with an individuals changes

think in 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months terms, if you're committed to the goal it gives you a time line to review, like if 3 weeks from now you don't have some positive change on the plus side you gotta do some come to jesus shyte, change does not come without pain

right now it is the pain of discipline versus the joy of success

Get up and work out before anything else at the home gym. You will adjust. MAKE the effort and watch your progress. People that make excuses will make them for the gym too whether at home equipment of at a facility.

MAKE THE CHANGE. KEEP AT IT. REAP THE BENEFITS.

its up to you where you do it...

If I didn't have my home gym I know I would never have any type of consistency in my routine. With farming and working construction I never have set working hours to get to a gym that's to far from home anyway.

I do both. I can work out at home for a while but then I start to get bored and need a change. Plus, I like the variety of equipment at the gym, but if I need a quick workout it can be done at home. Really i think its what ever keeps you motivated. If having a gym membership and a home gym lets you stay consistent then do it. I usually have multiple gym memberships and a home gym just cause of the convenience.
