  • Everlast heavy bag

Does anyone have one of these at home, or workout with one? How heavy of one do you think is necessary? We were thinking of getting one at home.

The best damn upper body workout on earth other than boxing against a real foe...that one in the pic looks good. You should get one.

This one says it is only 25 pounds. What is the advantage of a heavier bag?

its more stable..and you can really beat the hell out of it...for larger people who can hit hard its good to have a heavier bag..the smaller ones tend to move and sway..which isnt the purpose of a heavy bag...its needs to stay somewhat still....because obviously they are meant for power...so no offense..25 may be okay for a woman..( a regular sized woman) that doesnt hit hard..but i would recommend a heavier one regardless....

I have a wave bag that you fill with water and hang from the ceiling beam...I dont know how much it weighs but it is tall...It has a good feel when you hit it.
