My opinion for the most part on running or jogging is all relative to the intensity. If you are just jogging less than 2% incline at 4 or 5 MPH I would say 1.5 miles AVG.
I think it is a much better heart beneifit if you run sprints. Science has proven that intense running in short bursts is one of the more effective ways to burn fat as well as an excellent workout for the heart.
But that is just my opinion.
