I do them after my chest training.
I do them on a pair of hex dumbs. and i move my grip around from set to set.
I do them with my feet elevated higher then my shoulders...once in a blue moon with a 100lb plate on my back.

                  Re: PUSH UPS

excellent exercise. One of the all time greats. The $15 dollar push up bars/handles are incredible, You can unscrew them and put them in a suitcase to take on trips,. When Im at a hotel seminar, I run up to my room during breaks and knock out 3 or 4 sets, almost always with my feet elevated. I dont even count. Go to failure and then do as many partials until you collapse and cant hold yourself up. If you do this throughout your trip, and really push it as hard as you can, you will NOT have to go and find a gym to train for those 3 or 4 days. I keep those bars at home and at my office. Those bars let you go really deep into the push up and stretch your chest. try doing one inch partials at different points. hell ya

                        Re: PUSH UPS

Couldn't I make the arguement that if you can still do push ups after a chest workout, maybe you need to go back to the gym and hit it a bit harder???

After chest if I tried to do push ups, I'd break my nose. No freakin way!!

                          Re: PUSH UPS

Lately I've been on this kick where I will do pushups with each hand on a medicine ball and one foot on a medicine ball with the other foot lifted off the floor. This makes me have to control my body. I go to failure which is usually somewhere are 20 after doing chest.

I will also go in the gym and put the two slide discs on my feet. I'll do mountain climbers easing my way backwards across the gym. While doing these I will do 25 pushups before I get to the end of the gym. This gets my heart rate way up which is the direction I am training now for this race I have coming up.

                            Re: PUSH UPS

I LOVE push ups. I honestly can say I do push ups every other day. First set is generally in the 90-110 range. Second set is in the 70 range. 3rd set is in the 50-60 range. 4th set is in the 50 range. Then, if I'm not exhausted enough, I will do another set until I can't hold myself up anymore. They give the greatest pumps.
