      Bump what T-Man said. My legs were strong too and i was tossing some good poundages but not much growth. Think about it, the legs support the body's weight all day walking around, give it a few more reps, 12 to 15 and maybe as high as 20 per set. Calves are a MUST for high reps. i do at least 20 to 30 reps for calves per set.

        Yeah, funny we are on this topic because today at the gym one of the dudes I know has added some serious size to his thighs. He said he changed to sets of 20 reps on squats and it made all the difference. He did say his spotter has to help the last 3 to 5 reps. He said he put 2 inches on his thighs in the past four months doing this. He said he never thought to try higher reps until someone suggested it to him. I don't care who you are, 2 inches in 4 months is **** good and all he did was change to high reps.

          try decreasing your rest time between sets to further increase your pump you cant lift as much but it usually increases the pump and affects the lactic acid in your muscles

            So... this last week I changed up my workouts to higher reps.. Holy cow.. that is hard to do when you are used to 6-10reps. I couldn't catch my freakin' breath...
            Two leg workouts into it.. I like the feel!

              Split you leg workout

              I inherited my dad's chicken legs, so I've been struggling too with mine. I've always been told to train legs all in one day. Then a friend suggested splitting my leg workout, and it makes total sense. Think about it you train one major muscle group per day, and you might add a minor too that workout... example: chest (major muscle) & tri's (minor muscle); back (major) & bi's (minor)... so why are you training quads (major muscle) and hams (major muscle.)

              Now a split my legs works so I do quads & abs on one day and hams & calves another day. I've been doing this for years now, and I have seen some great results from it. I will never go back to training legs all together on one day... unless I have to miss a work out. You can train quads and blow them out with a really good workout. Rest up a couple of days and your hams won't be tired. Instead they will be ready for a hard workout.

                I do this as well when I do a four day split like I'm doing now. Calves with chest, hams with back, quads with biceps. I attack each area individually. Also, by hitting hams on back day, they get hit again in exercises like squats and leg press so they tend to grow faster in my experience. On back day, I only do one exercise because the hams get used with deads and on quad day. So, I will do stiff legs, which also hits the lower back, of some kind of single joint move like seated leg curls or prone leg curls.

                  check out a book called "SuperSquats" by Strossen...its all about the magic of 20 rep squats...I read that book about 10 years ago and became a huge believer in it!!! Get the book, You'll love it!!!
