What is the worst injury you guys and gals have experienced from the gym? I'd say my two hernias were the wprst for me. They were a pain, literarlly, but worse than that, they kept me out of the gym for 6 weeks each time and set me back each time.

Re: Worst injury
The worst pain was an issue I would get when curling with straight bar. It went from my wrist thru my forearm, (felt like it ran between the bones), up to my elboow. Hurt like hell if I set the weight down and turned loose too fast. I learned that I just can't do straight-bar curls unless useing a smith machine. That wasn't really an injury though.
Otherwise, I think that I've damaged my shoulders permanently from straight-bar bench. That damn straight-bar has killed me. I've never had my shoulders checked, but I'm thinking that I have some cartilage issues.

Re: Worst injury
I strained what felt like all of the muscles and ligaments in my spine - and tore an ab muscle - while deadlifting for the first time about 3 years ago. I had to lie on the floor for about 6 hours, and the pain was so bad I literally could not lift my heel off of the floor without triggering severe muscle spasms. That got better in about a week, but I still have the tear in my lower ab and I feel it every time I lift. It's not too bad, but I do worry that sometime it's going to tear bigger while I'm lifting heavy. No more deads for me since.
