you weight train? i lost most of my body fat by lifting...NOT CARDIO!!! stay in the 12-15 range on most excersizes (a little heavier for deads), take short rest periods between sets and add some super sets. use a thermogenic product to help crank up the heat!!! work out for an hour at a time....it will work, believe me. size 37 waist down to a size 32 in about a year or so!!! watch your diet.

here's a great product to try!!!

Diet first then you can try all sorts of stuff to see what hurts and what doesn't. You could try one of those no impact treadmill thingies or as lxorl said a pool is excellent.

I was also going to suggest some type of pool cardio/aerobics and of course, diet is key.

First of all: For the arthritis you should be taking glucosamine regularly if are not all ready. Its proven very effective for unilateral secondary osteoarthristis (which is what you have described).

Secondly: For the bursitis you should be working on correcting the biomechanics that are resulting in the abnormal tracking of the patella. With out assessing it the best thing I can recommend is that you put the treadmill on a decent incline and speed walk. This causes the VMO to dominate during the contact phase of your gate. The VMO is responsible for patellar tracking. Also, after anything... ICE! for 15-20 minutes (bursitis=inflammation).

              Cheers
