  • Relieveing cramps

Ok so I do plyometrics, distance running, and various sprinting drills to train for soccer. However I have a problem where I ALWAYS get cramps whenever i SPRINT in my abs. It's always in my abs and never anywhere else but at different spots in my abs.I never eat right before I do it or If I do I wait 30 mins before training.I drink plenty of water and take a multivitamin along with 2 proteins hakes a day.

I'm wondering if I should just eat more bananas throughout the day because maybe its a lack of potassium?I'm not sure but it's bugging the crap out of me and I don't want this happening during a game.Any input?

TRY AND ADD MORE POTASSIUMM AND WATER DAILY SEE IF THAT HELPS. GIVE IT A WEEK OR SO

I concur with the potassium, water AND magnesium.
It wasn't until I added the mag. that I noticed much diff.
And possibly take the multi vit twice a day.

I was taking one potassium tablet, one magnesium tablet and one multi in the morning and again in the evening 10-12 hours apart.

Once I did that everything seemed to calm down -- -- until the clen came along! Then I added Taurine and Arginine (sp?) and that combo helped cure everything that ailed me!

I have read lately that extra calcium may be of good benefit for cramps too.

Also, the water (I'm sure you already know) is #1. I can drink a few beers at night and will ALWAYS cramp the next morning just due to the diuretic effect. But that is also flushing out vitamins and minerals as the guys stated above.

I don't really know what to do.I kinda cut out milk to one glass a day and drink water daily plus take multivitamins and potassium pills.Maybe I'll just wait a little longer and see if it starts to work.Been about a week.

Why would his abs be the only muscle that cramps?
I'm asking because my abs cramp really bad when I train them directly. They are the only muscle I have had cramp.

                    Re: Relieveing cramps

Well everytime I workout legs, my quads cramp. This usually happens when I sit down for awhile, way after my workout, then I stand up and "bam!" my quads cramp. I'm talking both legs, can't stand up straight cramping. What I've done in the past was potassium pills with aspirin and it worked a little I mean the cramps would still occur but not as severe. I found that TAURINE with potassium works excellent; zero cramping. Give it a try.
