Re: AB EXERCISE
You are going to need to find a way to do a static contraction. I would try putting your feet under the couch and then lean back with your arms across your chest. Go about half way down and just hold it as long as you can.
With your surgery, I don't think there's too much you can do besides static contractions and leg lifts. Anything where you are moving up and down is going to make your neck move some. But, holding the contraction (like you do with the Plank exercise) will work your abs just fine until you can get back to it. I think people underestimate the benefit of static contractions personally. They do a lot, especailly for muscles like the abs and traps which are primarily stabilizers by design.
Hope that helps bro.

Re: AB EXERCISE
well they beat me too it but leg lifts, knee raises, etc. Oh I got one, how bout you lay on the ground, on your back, put your hands under your arse and point your toes up at the air (so you will be in the shape of an L) and push your legs up in the air several inches, hold-contract-release...give that one a try....

Leg lifts use a lot of hip flexors until you get to the point where you are actually moving the pelvis. I like to do a combo of crunch and elevate teh pelvis at the same time. basically I try to reach up and touch my toes in the air while pushing up with my lower pelvis and upper torso. I got this one from a gril who was a gymnist. By far it is the only single exercise that works the entire abs. The roller thing is good is use perfect form, but most people don't so this one is best IMO. It's very hard at first because you are basically lifting your upper torso and you legs at the same time using only your abs. But, once you get the hang of it, it's a great exercise. However, it's not for you FUZO, I think anything that requires upper torso movement is going to stress your neck some.
