  • Just need to vent....

After I was cleared to get back in the gym I decided to hit the T3 and clen prior to starting anything else. So, I did so for three weeks. I do cardio EVERY DAMN DAY prior to lifting. I even wear my Polar HR thing and every since I started back my average HR from the time I start cardio to the time I finish stretching after I'm done with everything is in the 140's. Now, I'm 34 years old so I'm in the fat burning zone for over 90 minutes. I'm eating really clean and training full blown again (except for stuff that effects my Achilles). So, here's my vent....when I tore my Achilles I weghed 248. Now certainly after 2 months of sittin on my butt all day, 2 months of rehad, eating less than I normally do, then hitting the gym for a whole month with cardio and 3 weeks of T3/clen, I would have assumed to have lost some decent weight. Hell phuking NO! I stepped on the scale and I was 245. I just started my cycle last week, so I know that can't be it, not that damn fast. So, now I'm changing from a 3 day split to a 4 day split to get the extra day of cardio in. I don't know what else to do. And, my pants are even fitting looser than they were when I started back at the gym. Now, I know I've gained some muscle back because I can see it. But damn it, I was hoping to have been down to 230-235. Now my goals of 210 are looking even tougher than I thought. I'm doing everything I can think of except a total carb cut. I may have to do that. I may just have to cut them to nothing for a few weeks. I really want to get down to 210. I know it's possible, people do it all the time. When it gets warmer, I can get the Mountain Bike out but right now it's too cold and I'm not sure about my Achilles quite yet.

Anyways, thanks to anyone who bored themselves with my vent. LOL and especially thanks to anyone with any ideas.

TRY CUTTING UR CARBS FOR 6 DAYS..KEEP THEM LOW..LIKE 150 -200 A DAY AND THEN THE 7TH DAY CARB REAL HIGH...TRY THAT AND SEE IF THAT WORKS BRO..

I feel ya man, except my deal is usually the other way around. This is no ****, I can go like a few days not eating as much as usual and the damn weight just drops off like crazy! I think it drives my wife more nuts than me, lol! Anyway cut the carbs a little and be careful with adding another day in there, you don't wanna **** up that tendon again. Good luck man.

Vent away dude. I know the frustration of trying to get lean. It will take a while before you see any significant progress. I looked the same for almost 3 months before something big happened. Defiinitely keep at the cardio, but try changing your diet around. a totoal carb depletion for 2 weeks helped me out a lot, but you will get lethargy like a mofo!!! Anyways good luck bro!

                    Re: Just need to vent....

yea bro your first problem is that you set a scale weight goal for yourself. this is always a bad move in my book. to me it doesn't matter if i weight 900 or 90 if i look the way i want don't set a scale goal set a mirror goal. If your pants are loser than your losing weight and just think your muscles were not being used over those 2 months either so there probably blowing back up with the quickness and keeping some of the lbs on you. don't worry bro just forge ahead and everything will end up great

                      Re: Just need to vent....

                      Thanks guys!

I'm going to try the carb drop but I have to be careful though, when my blood sugar gets low I get loopy. Seriously, I feel like I'm on a mild form of drugs. My thought process slows to which is not good when I have to drive around everyday to do appraisals. I may try to eat my carbs just in the morning and lunch and then none the rest of the day. That way I'm at home if I get loopy. I just don't know, I'm such a huge believer in stable blood levels that it goes against everything I believe so I need to find a way to take in very low doses through the day or cut it off at say 3:00.

Also, the 4th day is just to get more cardio in. I'm still doing mostly eliptical and the bike. I can do the treadmill but when I run my right calf is still very weak and so my shins take a beating as a result of my calf not being able to support me good enough. I've reached a pretty good sprint pace with no pain in the tendon but I backed off due to the shin splints. Which, after some research, is when I learned it due to how I'm compensating for the weak calf. I only get it in my right leg. So, I can crank up the eliptical or the bike and get my HR up enough so that's what I'm doing. Also, the 4th day is basically allowing me to spread my body out over more days so I'm not rushed in the gym and I can really go slow and every rep and just focus. I've also raised the volume to compensate for the intensity I've had to cut back on. This too goes against what I believe but I've actually noticed some nice gains so we'll see. It's just a huge blow to my ego. When I left I literally was the strongest dude in the gym (it's a YMCA - lol) on the leg press. Now, I'm doing about half what I was and it's a real battle between my ego and my logic. Ego says 'awe, you can throw another couple plates on there', logic says 'shut the phuk up ego, you're the reason we got here in the first place'. LOL

Anyways, thanks for the response and you guys made some great points. Especially james with the scale weight goal comment. I think I'm going to go back to the tape measure. I used to just run a tape measure around my belly button and check it once a month. If it goes down, I'm losing fat. But, for safety reasons with my Achilles, I really want to get down to 210. I do realize that muscle weighs more than fat and that when I get it back that will turn up my metabolism.
