Okay so I finally got my wrist hooks. They are 'RD Millenium "the hooker" reverse hook wrist straps'. I paid $14 including shipping for them.
Last time I did shrugs I was able to do 240lbs @ 12,7,4 reps. My grip was failing horribly. I now used these for the first time today and I did 300lbs @ 15,12,10,10 reps. BIG DIFFERENCE!!
I definitely recommend that if you get hook straps that you get reverse hook. The reverse hooks face toward you and are nice because the hook supports the bar from the side towards your body facing out, and your hand supports it from the side away from your body facing in. So you get a good overall safe grip.
The regular hooks face forward the same way as your hand so you only support the bar one way. It's oblivious to me why they would even make regular facing hook straps.
Another huge thing is instead of having to wrap the strap around the bar I just hook and go. Easy to put on the bar and take off. Saves lots of time.
Anyway I highly highly recommend you guys get these. This was my best fitness investment thus far!!
