Im preparing for a competition but for the past few competitions one of the problems i faced was having my legs to come in ripped and big at the same time iv got a pair of pretty good wheels generally about (25 inches each) but when i cut down and go for higher reps to get them ripped i lose that size pretty fast is there a way to mantain it and still get ripped? I do leg extensions and leg curls superseted, deep squats and then leg presses for about 15-20 reps when cutting...

Re: trouble with viens in legs....
you could be doing too much. squating and leg presses in the same workout is doing nothing more than overtraining most of the time. pick one or the other, not both. thats my only reasoning. also, as you know because you compete, diet is key.

Re: trouble with viens in legs....
i have to disagree ..i don't doing squats and leg presses in same work out is overtraining.. quads are a big muscle unlike a bicep or tricep that you usually don't want to go over 9 total sets.... legs on the other hand you gotta push them and push them hard ...friend of mine meso1 has good saying when comes to legs you gotta pop that cherry and just push them hard or they won't growOriginally posted by a-bomb83you could be doing too much. squating and leg presses in the same workout is doing nothing more than overtraining most of the time. pick one or the other, not both. thats my only reasoning. also, as you know because you compete, diet is key.

Re: trouble with viens in legs....
don't think it is to much volume for such a large muscle group it is 4 different movements...Originally posted by a-bomb83^^thats a lot of volume, and yes, even for quads. only genetic freaks (like meso1) can train like that and get away with it.
