  • I hope its not my damn rotator cuff.

Yesterday in the gym I hit my shoulders and felt fine. A couple of times though my shoulder felt kinda weird, almost a tight feeling and cracking like your knuckles. This is the same shoulder that I had scoped and repaired 5 years ago. My workout hasn't changed any as far as my shoulder go, but it might be time to change it so I dont blow my shoulder out again. So far today everything I do my damn shoulder pops. Washing my hair in the shower, it popped, cooking breakfast it popped. WTF, no pain just unnerving.

Any one got any input on shoulder excercises that dont strain the rotator cuff. I'm not talking about band excercises either, I hate that crap and had to do it for 2 years after going under the knife.

Actually, you want to isolate and strengthen the rotators. Anyone who has had rotator injuries or previouse tears needs to do rotator exercises forever. The reason we get tears is we get so strong in the delts and pecs that we neglect the rotator. What happens is the joint doesn't stay in place under heavy loads and ends ups straining or tearing one of the rotators. The only way to avoid it is to do rotator exercises. I've had a few strains and they only come when I'm NOT doing my preventative rehab stuff. I don't know the names of the exercises but I will go looks for pics so you can see. I do them 1-2 times every week. This way, they get stronger as I get stronger and the heavier bench, incline and military presses don't bother it.
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

That would be huge if u can get some pics of the excercises t-man. I've been doing a few but nothing seems to be helping.

God damn, I'm the same way! I hate doing them because they don't directly contribute to building mass but if I don't do them - I start hurting.

I do these (well, not #4. I do them on cable machines, just because it's faster), testrip and they help but they are probably as irritating as bands.
