Okay...I know there have been tons of shoulder pain questions, so I hope I'm not beating a dead horse. I've been slowly trying to work through a shoulder injury for about three months now with minimal progress. I'm pretty sure I have an inflammed supraspinatus tendon based on the description of the symptoms. There are several excersises I can do pain-free, but certain movements (flat bench, decline, dips, some curl variations) that can be painful. I get the most pain on decline and flat bench, but I can do incline and military presses virtually pain free. This is what confuses me. I think it has come time for me to see a doctor, but I don't want to go through all that for him to just say "rest it". For those of you that have experienced shoulder problems what did you do? I know the injury is not too severe because there is only minimal pain. Should I look into anti-inflamatories? I want to be able to still train if that's even possible. Any and all feedback is welcome. Thanks.

Re: shoulder injury
cortizone shot and physical therapy
the cortizone will make you feel better right away. then therapy to get your movement back. youll be able to work, but no certain movements. My doc had me working rotator cuff for 3 months straight. no overhead movements, no shoulder presses, no benchin. alot of band work.
