  • When warming up...

How long do you wait in between your warm up sets? How soon do you move to the work set after your last warmup set?

~1minute between workout sets,3-4 minutes before doing working set.

I rest 45-60 seconds between warm ups and then anywhere from 45 seconds to 3 minutes between working sets. If I'm doing heavy leg press then I wait a long time, if I'm doing light lateral raises I wait less time. It's a personal thing. I try not to rest too long. If I can get the same reps on the second set as I did the first set I either rested too long and fully recovered or I didn't go hard enough on the first set. I'm not a fan of high volume, I'm a fan of high intensity. I don't like to fully recover between sets. I'm there to tear down and get out, but that's what works for me. Everyone is different.

I'm usually warmed up after 4-6 sets of light weights... this all depends upon what exercise I'm warming up for. Squats will require more warm up sets as opposed to barbell curls.
