      Re: Doctor prescribed dose

Is there any need to run ancillaries (nolva, etc...) with such a low dose of 200mg of test per week?

I wish we had one around here. I think the closest test clinic is a 4 hour drive.
150mg a week will take anyone up to 1100ng/dl which is top of the range. A conservative doctor usually will not give you anything except a transdermal cream or patch. Of the doctors who will give you test cyp and allow you to inject it yourself, the starting dose is 100mg per 2 weeks. Foward thinking doctors are beginning to teach these neanderthals that the roller coaster effect of this protocol is worse than haveing no test at all, so many of them are doing you a wild favor if they will prescribe 100 mg per week.
Anyone who has a doctor who will prescribe 200mg a week is extremly lucky, but you should know that those doctors are very rare.
A typical dose from a modern doctor is 100 mg per week.

The better HRT doctors such as Shippen and Crisler will tell you that any doctor who prescibes HRT without HCG and an AI is guilty of malpractice.

I'm not currently using them at the moment either, but my doctor thinks he has done me the biggest favor by giving me androgel, so getting bloodwork for DHT levels or estrogen levels are out of the question.
Does your doctor check your estrogen levels and if he does, is he doing a standard test or the ultrasensative?
If you aren't having any problems then you may not need to check, but many people on HRT continue to have the same problems they had before they started HRT. One of the problems with transdermal methods is that it can increase DHT levels so high that you lose your ability to get wood. This doesn't seem to be a problem with injections.

                    Re: Doctor prescribed dose

My Dr watches my Test levels and Liver enzymes more than anything. She tried to give me the gel , but I told her it gives me rashes and that I didn't want to get any on my kids when I pick them up ,so I prefered injects. I have never had problems w/wood on my standard dosage- the only time I see issues is when I raise the levels very high(on cycle). When I discussed this with my Dr,- she imformed me that to much can cause this. I think high levels coupled with working shiftwork(I see more problems when I'm on graveuards then when on days) is my main problem

                      Re: Doctor prescribed dose

i didn't know hrt docs went higher than the standard 200mg weekly regimen. i have heard from Palumbo in his column that anything less than 500/week can cause wood issues. no first hand knowledge tho. i am probably going to be a candidate for it soon tho as my breaks between cycles have gotten shorter to the pint that i haven't been off n almost 18 months now. if i can only get 200/wk froma doc i may have to keep getting ug stuff to make up the difference =)

                        Re: Doctor prescribed dose

yeah but the 200mg you get from the Dr. is much stronger than the UG stuff we take. Don't ask me how, but I have seen good results with the 200/wk from my Dr.

there are still lot's of issues with doctors, some might prescribe test, but no way in hell will they prescribe hcg or ai, which is for females..........also, max per law a person on hrt can get is 10,500 mg per year, which fwiw, can be broken down into all different stuff

you can find a ton of hrt doctors just doing a google search, most just send you too get blood work at a local lab and then send you what you need in the mail

A male friend i know said his dr was givin him 200mg every other wk for hrt, and it was depo test which is usually cyp here in usa. Europe is much more easy on giving out scripts and they use more ethanate there. I know my former bf was a bber and said that pharmacy grade testosterone is made with more quality standards than when you go to someone who makes it.?? I dont know cause he would get some pretty good hb, lol! I think it may have something to do with the raw materials that pharma grade uses. Maybe its purer.
