  • What is an abcess?? Think i may have one.

Just wondering what an abcess is. From what i can tell is excess fluid build up in an area that has to be drained. I think i have this on my left leg but not sure. When i flex my quad itl looks as if there is a bulge in the side of my quad. Not that big but its puffy in that area and if i try to inject in that area i seem to pull blood/fluid no mater how much i move the site. Im injecting in the right leg now(new week) so maybe this is just a little build up that will go away. I didnt take notice of my right leg when injecting last week(looks fine now) so it may have been there on the right leg too. Just fill me in guys.

An abscess is a fluid-filled sac usually direectly under the skin. It is usually an attempt by the body to isolate some irritant or foreign substance, which is then attacked by the body's white blood cells. These are highly prone to becoming infected, especially if they are near the skin's surface and erupt. However, if an abscess is very deep, the foreign susbtance may get into the blood stream and become a systemic infection. Redness, swelling, pain, and warmth are serious signs of infection..you may want to get that thing checked out. Ive heard of subcutaneous infections eating out whole chunks of muscle and internal tissue before they are taken care of--usually with lancing and weeks of antibiotics...Good Luck!

Or you can use a 18g needle by shoving it in the center of the abscess, sucking out the puss. Then reinsert needle filled with bac.water and flush, repeating 2-3 times.

What are you injecting? If it is a high volume you may have an oill collection. When you have an abcess you are usually very sore, and sick. As to the injecting and flushing idea....just say NO!

          when was the shot?

if it's not red/inflamed/swolen it's probably not a big deal, just monitor it ...

I don't think I would take this approach.

I wouldn't try this method IMO...

I have heard of a lot of people getting rid of them like this. I've never had an abcess myself, but if I did, I'd probably try this myself befor going to the doc...but that's just me. Don't take this for a proffesional or medical opinion at all...
The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.
