  • Steroids found in suitcase, man arrested

A call concerning a domestic dispute led to the arrest of a Statesville man for possession of anabolic steroids.
Patrick Robert McNeely, 28, of Island Ford Road, was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of possession with intent to sell/deliver Schedule III, maintaining a dwelling/vehicle to keep/sell controlled substances, possession of Schedule VI and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $20,000.
Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a home on Island Ford Road around 6:50 a.m. Tuesday.
During the course of the investigation, deputies spoke with the woman, who said she and her boyfriend had an argument and he had left the residence to go to work. Deputies said they learned McNeely possibly had steroids, ordered online without a prescription, in the house.
Deputies contacted McNeely and he denied having any drugs in the house, reports indicate.
Deputies, along with the narcotics division, obtained a search warrant and searched the house. They found a suitcase in McNeely’s vehicle, and inside it were 457 dosage units of anabolic steroids, along with two baggies of marijuana.
In the search of the house, officials said, they found two glass pipes, a jar containing marijuana residue and a pack of rolling papers. They said they also found syringes and more rolling papers inside a box in a closet.

457 dosages sounds like a ton; however, that is around 45 10ml vials I assume...possibly even individual pills! This keeps giving AAS a bad name....and you are 10000% correct 6p6!

so.. let me get this straight. he wasn't there... she said she and he had a fight, she then said he had drugs in her or "there" house.. they obtained a warrant on here say with no real reason and subsequently arrested an individual who was not in possession of anything at the time.....

not good , not good at all.. I think a good lawyer would eat this up but chances are he aint got one.. denial and silence is his best friend right now.. this whole thing reaks

Deputies said they learned McNeely possibly had steroids, ordered online without a prescription, in the house.

This really was not true. The search warrant must have included the car yet it was the home that was the place they were to look?

Kinda like if they had a search warrant to look for a body in his house. Well, they can;t open the jewelry box on the dresser type of thing. No body could be in the jewelry box. Yet, they search his car.

^^^ With a good lawyer and depending on what all he said he shouldn't get it to bad... I knew a guy that got busted making the stuff and I mean a lot of stuff and he got probation.... First offense, good lawyer, and don't say shit and you should get a slap in the hand and id suggest you nvr get caught again.... Also depends on the investigation but there is many variables that goes into stuff like this.
