About 3 years now im 27... Type 1

I take 37 units Lantus at night and humulog during the day depending on what I eat.... my doctor recommended a pump because i am so active... but i didnt want to be hooked up to something all the time... he said that this method gives basically the same effect... but you have to give yourself 4+ sticks a day... I dont mind it though

yea my boy just got on lantus this week and its nice......he gets 4 to 5 shots a day ...

I love it... so much better than taking NPH twice a day... better control... i just went back up and read your original thread... WOW 50 units of it? How big is he? Im 260lbs.... if he's taking 37 then maybe i better go revisit my Doc... heh. Oh one other thing.. usually when I do the Phosphgen with Insulin thing.. I get really sleepy... i mean really and i get this warm good feeling through my body.. like my muscles are saying "Ya thats the shit keep it coming". The first couple times I did it I was so paranoid... i tested my sugars like every 30 min... but i was fine with just some coffee or diet coke

ok you know why u get sleepy...body getting your blood sugar levels right...he is 164 pds but know his age and still growing his doses change alot when he was 5 they kinda stayed the same for a while then when he went thru puberty they changed about every other weeek

in his case he'd have to go w/ a pure monohydrate or something designed for transport w/out the dextrose...like TRAC by mhp

Lethal, that is corect, insulin without the sugar would be deadly. I didnt say this but I should have. I meant taking it ALONG with his normal shot... IE, before his current meal or whenever he takes it along with the food. I didnt say that, but thats what I meant and I am glad you pointed that out.
