You definitely should not experience any problems with your pancreas while taking slin... your body will not stop producing insulin as long as you follow the 4 weeks on 4 weeks off protocal.
The thing we need to worry about is becoming insulin RESISTANT... ie type 2 diabetes.
This seems unlikely as we take the shorter acting insulins that more closely mimicks the body's natural insulin response to food... something we have to think about though, unfortunately.
Nothing we do comes without risk.

A powerbar raises your natural insulin higher than 10ius of humalog. Only thing is, humalog is more sustained. Your doing your pancreas a favor by easing the load on it, 100g of dextrose needs a lot of insulin. This way, your pancreas gets a break, but you still get the benefits of insulin's anabolic properties. People become type II diabetics because of a diet high in refined carbs, which make your pancreas produce a lot of insulin, and because lack of exercise. So to a certain extent, your doing yourself a favor. But i advocate moderate doses (no more than 15ius) and post workout only doses. When I ran it in the AM too, alls i noticed was more fat gain, post workout my fat gain is slim to none. I also suggest using humalog, it has the shortes life span, therefore you get the spike, and its out in a few hours, lessening the chance of complications. Humulin is okay, but it has a slighlty longer lifespan, therefore is more anabolic, but IMO has more potential for causing damage.

Pro where do you get that your insulin levels are more spiked ffrom a powerbar than from insulin? I realize a certain amount of carbs would be equivalent to the insulin spike from say 10ius of humalog, but im wondering where you got this information.
