Leesburg Man Faces Steroid Charges

Jeremy Helbing, 35, of Leesburg has been charged with distribution and conspiracy for illegally supplying steroids to Jeffery Reagan, 43, of Bristow, Va.

Reagan coached football at South County High School for several years, was most recently associated with the West Springfield High School football program and taught at Mountain View Alternative High School in Centreville.

He was arrested in the Sully Plaza Shopping Center in Chantilly where he allegedly met Helbing at about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Reagan was charged with possession with intent to distribute steroids and conspiracy to distribute steroids.

Fairfax County Organized Crime and Narcotics Unit detectives received a tip in December 2011, and launched an investigation. After meticulous follow up, police arrested both men.

After the arrest, Fairfax detectives worked with Loudoun County narcotics detectives and went to Helbing’s home in Leesburg, where they uncovered numerous substances which are pending lab results.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (WUSA) -- Police say a man who coached football at South County High School and is associated with the West Springfield High School football program has been arrested along with his alleged illegal steroid supplier.
According to Fairfax County Police, 43-year-old Jeffery Reagan was arrested at the Sully Plaza Shopping Center on Tuesday after allegedly meeting with a man police call his supplier. A tip last year launched the investigation, which ultimately resulted in Reagan's arrest.
Police identify the accused supplier as 35-year-old Jeremy Helbing of Leesburg. Helbig is charged with distribution and conspiracy while Reagan is charge with intent to distribute steroids and conspiracy to distribute steroids.
Police say that detectives seized "numerous substances which are pending lab results" at Helbing's home in Leesburg.


According to the Associated Press, Reagan worked at South County High School until 2011 and was being evaluated for a job at West Springfield High School. Reagan has been suspended without pay.
