  • T3 & me

I have a few questions I hope you would be able to give me some input on. First of all I just read an article on T3 and thought it was good, I take synthroid for my under active thyroid and have been for ten plus years. I am currently on GH as well as some test E that I decided to use Bc of its long life as I Tavel for work. I am waiting n some Anavar in the mail as well. I am stocky around 20% body fat with some muscle and want to try and get back into shape again lol I've been going to the gym as much as possible as well I work 14 12 hr days and 14 off. I have lost 15 lbs with the gh and the Visalus 90 day challenge. My question is would it be worth adding some T3 into my cycle to try to cut some extra fat? Or possibly one of the futuristic ones talked about in the article but they didn't sound highly recommend? Also would any of this affect my prescribed thyroid dose or can I use my prescription at a higher dose to achieve the same results.
    Thanks
    R

T3 is cytomel correct different active ingredient than synthroid.

I have read of people stacking the two for a synergistic effect. I am not an expert but I will stick around for an answer as I am curious about this.

I would ask a doctor on that one or search around for an article or 2 about it

I believe but could be wrong there's a thread or two in the FG archives about the actions of and interaction of t3 and t4 which I believe is the active component of synthroid.

If the active ingredient in Synthroid is T3/T4, then what your body does is convert the T4 to T3 for use.

Your body produces T3 and T4 already and converts the T4 to T3 for use.

Some bottles just have T3 and some come with both T3 and T4. The T4 is always a lower dose and I think it is in there to basically be longer acting. Your body starts using the T3 pretty quick while it is also converting the T4 to T3 for use. Not sure how long that takes though, days or weeks.

With the Synthroid you are already taking, it keeps you thyroid active. Part of an active thyroid is to trigger the body to burn fat. Now with your doctors dosage, how active does it make your thyroid?

Your thyroid should be within normal parameters with your dosage and doctors care I would think.

So now you take T3 to burn fat. What you are doing now is what the rest of us do, even though we are not on Synthroid, you are supplementing T3 on top of whatever your body is making or what you are taking with the Synthroid to treat your under active thyroid.

Bottom line is, either talk to your doctor or just take the standard T3 dosage and watch yourself closely.

You have to ramp up on it to 100mcg daily. So if you feel you need to ramp down at any time, then do that.

It would seem to me that if your thyroid is within normal limits with your medication, then taking more T3 will not have anymore affect on you as it does us.

I used to love T3. I stopped it a few years ago because it gave me heart arrhythmia . Not worth the risk for me. Bummer, oh well.

I don't think anyone should use T3 until they have done all they can through diet and cardio. Even then, I would go with an ECA or Clen before thinking about T3. That stuff melts everything.. muscle and all. When I use it, I rarely go above 50mcg's per day.

evreytime ive used gh ive also used T3 at 50mcg for 6 weeks. I tried the ramp but felt better results staying at 50. But yes pit is right try everything else to help you lose weight and body fat before T3

                          Re: T3 & me

I have used it at caution with Clen. But you know the harm it can cause to your natural isn't enough benefit for me to do it again. I ramped up and then back down so your natural has time to react to both upper and lower levels and your natural will continue to product. But if you already have thyroid issue there is no way I would. I said there is no way I would , I'm sure others might but we only have 1 body and I feel there is other things you need to try first. I know there is a post when I was doing this and was some good info on the ramp up and down. Hope you get the answer you are looking for.

I would agree with most and say if you already have a issue with the thyroid stay away from t3. Try clen and other fat burners if you feel the need. I have used both T3 and clen together and had good success but I felt it was hard to keep the weight off afterwards and I used the correct protocols of ramping both up then down I did a 6 week 2 weeks on 2 weeks off clen program T3 was the whole 6 weeks lost 15 pounds but I have gained back 5 of it. I do a hour on eliptical at 8mph everyday after weights. I feel that a diet is the best and only way to go from now on. I did not like the headaches and high BP.

synthroid is t4.. you could use the more potent form of thyroid(t3), but you should either cut the synthroid out, or take a much lower dose of each.... you must be careful with t3, as it can have ill effects if used incorrectly or abused... the best way to take it is to use a pyramid(start low, and raise dose slightly every 3-7days, depending on length of time you want to use it, then lower back down over the same time period, trickling the dose down in the same manner you raised it) ... that being said, 4-6 weeks is about as long as I would use it... a 5week pyramid for a person with normal thyroid function(to speed fat loss) might look something like this(week 1 25mcg/week2 50mcg/week3 75mcg/ week4 50mcg/week5 25mcg)... If you even consider adding t3 to your t4, I would cut the t4 dose in half at least(maybe lower), and do something like the above lined out pyramid.... listen to your body!!! too much thyroid can be dangerous!!! you will experience 'hot flashes', but they wont really be flashes, they will be pretty consistently hot....you don't want to let that get out of control! also, you will experience mild lethargy when you get toward the top of the pyramid, and half way back down it(if the lethargy is more than mild, do not raise dose.... if you start getting lethargic(noticeable) during week 2, do week 3 at 50mcg(not 75), then pyramid down....
you wont really know your 'sweet spot til you have done a pyramid or two of t3... don't overdo it! take your time to find it, the last thing you want to do is end up severely screwing your health or possibly dieing from excessive thyroid use(it raises core temp significantly, you must stay hydrated!!!) and above all else, pay attention to your body, and what it is telling you!!!
also, t3 can be highly catabolic if not coupled with aas... and a good diet is still a MUST! there is NO magic pill.....
