I dunno if I even spelled it correctly. I see it on lists, yet have no clue as to what the hell it is.

Torbugesic-SA (butorphanol tartrate) is an injectable pain killer somewhat like Nubain.

Yes its a pain killer, also know as Stadol. Im pretty sure that Stadol is whats used to ease the pain of contractions during labor

Although I have yet to give birth in my 25 years as a male, labor pains are supposed to be pretty intense. If you have pain so severe, go to a doc, dotn self administer. I dont know the affects, but painkillers are just rec drugs if not prescribed, they even can be rec drugs when prescribed. Some BBers justify their use, but they are just as bad as other rec drug users IMO.

Does anyone know anyone (bodybuilder) that uses either Nubain, Torbugesic, or some other pain killer?

I suppose they take them to mask injuries while getting through grueling workouts. Doesn't seem like an entirely plausible idea since you're probably just hurting yourself worse in the long run.

Though I do suppose it would be beneficial for top-end athletes where there is $$$ on the line. The last thing you'd want is an injury holding you back after you've worked your ass off for months (i.e. professional bodybuilder).

Nubain is pretty fucking addictive, isn't it?

I was referring not so much to pain from workouts, but say for instance, a top Olympia competitor develops a nagging elbow condition several weeks before the big show and cannot work out effectively. The pain killer would atleast allow him to continue training through the pain.

I think that statement is taking it a little too far.

IMO Butorphanol Tartrate isn’t really all that strong or addictive (unless you are predisposed to addiction). It is said to be comparable to meperidine (Demerol or Pethidine), but I can tell you from firsthand experience that that comparison is horseshit.

I do agree that Butorphanol Tartrate (Torbugesic-SA or Stadol) and Nalbuphine Hydrochloride (Nubain) have no place in bodybuilding.
