Im in the belief if your not cutting, cardio should be minimal. 1-2 x a week max, for say 30 minutes at low intensity, for cardio vascular health. If you notice you getting softer than you would like (dont mistake this for water retention) i do a few things. First, I try cutting carbs off my last solid meal of the day, and adding them to breakfast. If that still is not working well, I drop some carbs off, along with moving my last meal of carbs to breakfast, and make up the difference of the carb calories with fat. If that still is not working, i drop off 25-40g of carbs, and lower my total calori intake slightly.
