  • Experienced Slin Users, Humalog and Humulin's Peaks

Is one more intense than the other for you? I notice no difference, CJWolf said he feel humalog to be more intense. Please dont vote unless you have used both, and also no cut and pastes from Lily's site, i can go there if id like, i want personal experience to those that have used both.

I don't know if one is more intense than the other but the peaking times are different. I think the rapid onset of the Humilog contributes to the illusion of a more powerful insulin.

Neither is stronger, only there onset, duration and bell curve changes. Humalin-R was Eli lilly's I generation mealtime insulin, so its peak was at X ideal amount of strength for the diabetics, when gen II humalog came out it was the same strength as the original but was faster acting.

From personal experience I find log to be much superior altogether, its in & out quicker which is easier for nutrient timing and the risk of hypoglycemia. As long as the user has administered enough glucose, timed to the profile of the insulin they are using, there is no danger from one to the other. Also insulin is not a beginners drug period, if you cant handle one you shouldn’t do or condone another for obvious reasons, or else you risk taking a early holiday that involves a lot of sleep.

i notice a lot higher sense of hypoglycemia on log if i don't consume enough carbs ...

with the R, it's more like a nagging sensation of displeasure, but wiht the log, it's a crippling feeling pretty much ...

I've only used R and found no peak at all, but that might be because I did lots of carbs and protein within the first hour. I weight 200Lbs. and was doing 13ui twice a day.

I stopped my insulin therapy. I was gaining way too much fat of the deal. I know, lazy ass for not getting more strict with my diet. I have only done R and I went hypo twice. If I consume enough or more carbs then I dont even notice anything whatsoever.
