i've always had a six pack until this last cycle. i gained roughly 30 pounds and now i lost the six pack and i am pudgy. what should i do? i am under the impression that you should continue to consume a lot of calories after a cycle, correct?

I don't believe so, no. Some will say yes, but I say no. Continue to consume at least maintenance calories through the recovery period, but then start the diet right away.
The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.

Cut out carbs and keep calories relatively the same, add fat g in place of the carbs, this always keeps me leaner. Im eating aslmost 200g of fat a day now (good fats) and am staying nice and lean. Carbs are around 300-350. Proetin is at its norm of 450.

Cutting out sugar helps me a lot, and that includes lactose. I can't get really lean if I'm taking in a lot of dairy productrs, even skim milk.

Is there a formula as to how many calories you should add to your pre-cycle maintance, considering you put on 20lbs.
              right now:165lbs 2200 cal maintance
              post:185lbs ?cals

Hey Bro . . . I am not sure about any "post cycle" Formula but, I do know that there is a great thread on Basal Metabolic Rates somewhere in this site. (anyone know where that is??) You figure your maintenance cals by age, weight, Height . . . . and then stick to it. One thing you might consider is nailing some creatine at the end of a cycle to keep gains but lose BF. Generally speaking most people respond real well to 20-30 min of cardio first thing in the morning. Keep your heart rate right around 125 to 135 and you shouldn't eat into the muscle you have gained. Keep carbs low and stack protein like a mutha!! Straight tuna from the bag or can!! Anyway, this all works for me pretty well . . .. I am currently nearing the end of a good cycle and I was able to keep BF at a minimum this way and make good hard gains. I ate extremely clean and I haven't had anything to drink except water since Dec 31. I am soooo ready for a cold beer dude!

Also: How long since you ended your cycle . . . you may still be experiencing some water retention (bloat) if your gear was esterogenic in any way. Just a thought.
Don't get bummed out in either case . . .your gains are under there and you will get to see them when you your diet gets together. It just takes a little time.
                  Peace

I would start SLOWLY and GRADUALLY adding cardio and decreasing calories, first fat, then simple carbs, then complex carbs.

i think if you give it time and just do everything in moderation and do cardio, you will get down to where you wanna be

I never do cardio post cycle, even if its a cutting cycle, if anything i cut my carbs a bit and add more good fats. I feel cardio is detrimental to keeping gains for about 4-6 weeks after a cycle. Clen, NYC, or ECA, is a must post cycle, they are somewhat anticatabolic, and keep metabolism humming along, even if calories are a little on the high side.

I would agree with my brother small (sorry about the name thing, but mines cooler ) about being gradual about it. You dont want to get in a hurry and lose some of that hard earned muscle.

Except I would not cut out fat's, you need a healthy intake of fats to maintain a posative hormonal profile. Too little fat can mean too little testosterone. I would also wait until your own levels kick back up and you lose the bloat, dont worry about it too much right away, Im sure you look fine.

yep i wouldnt cut out fats at all, i would cut simple carbs, and some complex (except simple post workout) and make up for the calories with fat.
