Nice one mate, it takes big balls to over come fear, but it is these battles with our selves, which make us better people.

I work as a Bouncer in a rough club, there is rarely a week that goes by with out me having a fight with some one. It does not matter how big they are, if you catch them clean on the chin/jaw, you will knock them out.

You did the right thing, and no disrespect to the person that posted it, but the man that walks away, usually gets punched in the back of the head. You can be the hammer or the anvil, the choice is yours.

Throughout this whole thing I hear people saying, "it's not worth it to fight" bla bla bla. But what you have to understand is that this is the sport he is in. It's just that, a SPORT. Just like bodybuilding, hockey, or baseball. It's like if somebody called him on for a free throw competition in basketball because they didn't think he was good at it.

Well man, you proved you are the better fighter. From one MMA fighter to another, congrats man, I know what it feels like to have it under your belt.

Bro this is not easy to come up with a good answer for you. I think teekahty's post is really good but I can't imagine being able to back out of the fight either.

I think a good way to make a decision is to ask yourself when your boy is 16 (and knows words that you or I have never heard of) what will have been the best decision. If you beat his ass will your boy and wife see you differently than if you didn't?

I guess it's an easier call if you screw up your eye (or anything else) that it would prob. have been a bad idea to have indulged.

That being said, I still don't know which way I'd go. Wish I had a good answer.

Congrats man. Just goes to show size isn't everything. I'm glad you won. Still don't know that fighting was the best choice, but it may have been necessary. I'm just glad it didn't get ugly.
