They will give you a hard time if you want the gear back, and it will take a while. Once you tell them what it is they have to confirm it by having it tested, if they haven't already. Their turnaround time is not very quick.
It's up to you, but I would not want customs having my personal info.

Fina kits are legal to own, just don't tell them what your going to do with it. If they are unsure about the unknown liquid, since when is it illegal to own sterile oil and BA?
I own a case load of bullets but they're not illegal. But if I use them...SMACKAVELI is merely an online character. The words and subject of this online character by all means does not represent the writer. This is Role Playing only...

Got the letter today. It says they have a package containing "Unknown liquid and syringes. Please identify these items and fax a copy of the purchase invoice, description, and VALUE"
There was a few extra vials and some bacterostatic(sp?) water in there as well.
I'm sure none of the stuff is illegal in canada to have or import. Think it's worth doing what they want so I can get my kit? I'll just tell em it's Vit B12 I'm converting (if they even ask).
I'm more woried that if I don't explain the package, they'll flag my account and I'll have troubles from now on.

Got Gear - I would seriously go talk to a lawyer. Just to get some advice. You could take it as a loss, and just forget about it, but that may cause problems down the road, and you might want to know this. I would seriously go see a lawyer to see what they have to say, and to see what they advise you to do.I bend but I do not break.

Got Gear,
If it is legal in your country, their should be no problem.
Sure concern is, "UNKNOWN LIQUID" . It is the combo of that and syringes that concern them.
Four Choices:
1. Ignore, and hope for best.
2. Respond, and say thanks for info yet have no idea it's not yours
3. Stand up for your rights, provide prove. They are most likely trying to alleviate FEAR, rather than come down on you.
4. Call them, don't say name, tell person exactly what you did, and see what he says. They know good and gosh darn well lots of AS and drugs and other stuff go through mail, they are most concerned with Terrorism or the Big Dogs that handle quantity, not the little guy.
Good Luck

Thanks everyone for your advice.
I sent customs a fax like they requested. I included a short note stateing that it's a poweder conversion kit and it allows me to convert Vit B12 powder into a sterile, injectable form. I identified the 3 liquids and requested that the items be released. I also included a copy of the purchase invoice as per the request.
I didn't think to give the lady any of my contact info! My phone number is unlisted, and all she has is my home address.
I'm going to chill on this for a few days and if I havn't heard anything, I'll give he a call on Tuesday or so...
Like I said, I'm not worried about the cost of replacing the kit, but rather having customs double check every one of my packages from now on. I order alot of car parts and stuff from the states, don't want to wait months for stuff to show up.
I need a fricken Fina kit!RIP BigJim33 & GearedUp: You are sorely missed my friends.
