I've noticed a big difference between bb today and years ago is that midsections have gotten so much bigger. I know the majority of this is GH causing internal organs and intestines to grow -- GH gut. But I've talked to a lot of guys in the gym who use AAS but never GH or IGF, and they also have these thick midsections. What causes this? Overusage of AAS? Would it be wise to never exercise abs during a cycle (so that the ab muscles don't grow)? Maybe, along the same line, better always to wear a belt to minimize the abs working? Are there certain AAS that are more likely to cause this?

Re: thick midsections
Comparing BBers today vs the 70'S Arnold's era you can tell a huge difference in mid section. HGH causes a GH Gut, now some people naturally have thick abdominal muscles and when they develop them well they just look huge.. like they have a GH gut. I know exactly what you're talking about. Even tho some people get 6 pack they look tiny.

Re: thick midsections
I dont know, my personal opinion is that it doesnt look bad. It may be misleading with a shirt on im sure. I personally am the same way, even in mid summer after cutting my abs show very well yet im still wearing a 36 inch waist (to be comfortable) although I do wear loose fitting pants. I think it has alot to do with genetics as well.Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.
What lies before me and what lies ahead of me are small compared to what lies within me.

Re: thick midsections
What do you guys think about folks doing abb work outs with fairly heavy weights.I mean I can be guilty of it but that could mean your building bigger abbs insted of just making them lean and cut but I get carried away I want a strong core, strong everything ya know. What wont kill you only makes you stronger!

Re: thick midsections
Well, the biggest difference from the Arnold era to now is GH use. Even guys I know personally that uped the GH got thicker in the waist. The reason has nothing to do with thicker abs, it's the fact that GH makes your organs grow. So, your stomach, kidneys, liver, intestines, etc ALL get larger. This is the reason for the thick waist. Now, just to let you know, I know guys that will admit aas use but not GH use. I don't know why, but they do. If they really have the type of GH gut you see on todays pros, then they are probably using GH. There's no way to get down to 2% bodyfat and when you relax your abs they poke out like you are pregnant without the expansion of your organs. Even if you have super thick abs, it's not going to push your gut out like that.
