I injured my rotator cuff two days ago at the gym. It hurts when I do lateral movement. I go to deep when I do shoulder presses and involve my rotator cuff and thats how I hurt it I think. My question is if I give it a few days could I still train other body parts like chest, triceps and biceps. I dont want to quite working out because I'm in the middle of my cycle and my sus. just kicked in. I also don't want to blow out my shoulder and be down for good. Any suggestions?

Yea, stop training and see a doc, a true rotator cuff injury can fuck you for life if it isnt taken care of properly.
Use a smith machine, hammer strength, or dbells...always kick the seat back to about an 80 degree angle, it will still work the front delts and all along teh clavical area, its just that you wont have that added stress from sitting completly upright, when doing these presses

Soft tissue, ligaments, like rotator cuff are things that one can easily abuse in not letting fully heal...I did that to my wrists and elbow, so now it's a chronic thing, will never be 100%, and I can never do certain excercises anymore, e.g. reverse curls, close grips, etc. The rotator cuff is even more critical...good luck.

Yeah, I had an inflamed rotator cuff and I couldn't do ANY presses at all for around eight weeks man, it sucked. Be careful though, a buddy tore his doing bench and had to have it operated on. He's just now benching the bar by itself (he was repping 275 before it happened).

Doom is right, if it is injured see a doc.
If it is just sore or inflamed, several things can help.
Warm up thoroughly and do specific exercises to help strengthen the rotator cuff. Rotate your arm with your elbow locked at 90 degees using very light (5-10 lb db)
Try taking 8-10 capsules Beverly Joint Care every day. Joint Care contains Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and MSM, as well as Vit C & E, manganese, boron, and evening primrose oil, which is now being praised as a wonder supp for sore joints. These come in big gel caps, and seem to work better on rotator cuff and elbow soreness than anything else I've tried. 3 capsules contain 1000mg Glucosamine sulfate.
Up your flax oil to 5-6 tablespoons per day. Makes a difference in joint and tendon recuperation.

How can you tell if its just inflammed or sore, I don't have medical insurance so a doc is out of the question. I guess without medical insurance I should just stop training and let it heal or I will be in big trouble when it needs surgery. Thanks for all your help guys!Not Guilty..........

bro be very careful and def. see a doc. i dislocated my left shoulder and it took forever to heal. now my right shoulder is hurting some from were i was doing heavy on shoulder presses and used a spotter. i read in a mag. to never use a spotter doing shoulder movements because there is already alot of strain on them. especialy if you on steriods because your strength and muscle size is increaseing big time while your joints and etc. are not growing as fast.

huh? well I've been thinking about your rotator cuff and I thought of a different answer. Just train your shoulders twice a week with the shortest amount of reps with the heaviest weights you can lift. So if you do ten reps with 45lbs on shoulder presses, go with 60lbs about three reps. PM me for more training tips.Cheat on your girlfriend, not your diet!!!

This is just a suggestion to get around the insurance issue. Go to the ED under a false name and info. Don't give a SS#, "i forgot it", kind of thing. This is a little immoral socioeconomically speaking but it is one way. If not, just go to the ED and pay the bill when it comes.
