    It really is a non-issue because healthy diets will contain plenty of whole grain fiber and fiber carbs. Also, protien has fiber like effects on the digestive system. To answer the question, I believe that fiber is always a very important part of a healthy diet.

        I feal it's very important in anyones diet. And I can just about gaurantee that your not getting enough with diet alone, no matter how good you think it is. After what I went through this year with my stomach I now suppliment with pretty large amounts of fiber.

          I high fiber diet can slow down carbohydate absorbtion.

            I've taken fiber supps for a couple years now. My favorite is the Benefiber chewables. I eat those like candy. You can get enough fiber. You can't get too much, meaning you can take all you want and not worry about taking too much. You'll know when you're getting enough. If you don't, other's will let you know, lol.

              Fiber is very important. It cleans out your waste and help lipids, you need to get rid of toxins in the body. We should get about 30 grams per day. All I know when I don't get enough fiber I get bloody stools from pushing to hard and I don't feel well.

                If you have bloody stools theres more to it than just pushing to hard, You have something that needs looked into. And you should never have to force out a poop.

                  Thanks for the reply, but I did have it checked, scoped and all. It's hem-roids and it was caused from lack of fiber and not enough water. You didn't think when I saw blood that I wouldn't have it looked at? Thanks for the concern.

                    Gross.

                    It helps when you're putting down massive protein to get some extra fiber in. I get most of my carbs from berries and pears which have fiber in them, but sometimes I'll eat a half cup or a cup of brocolli with a meal too. I think it definitely helps.
