  • accutane?

how long does it take to start working and does acne get worse before it gets better?

  • #2
From what I've seen it starts working the best around month 2 and just keeps on getting better. I believe that it does cause a bit of a break out before your skin starts to improve but after that you should be in for some smooth sailing skin wise.

In all likelyhood...no it should...you may still get the mild pimple or zit but you shouldn't have the severe occurance that you first would use accutane for.

I'm talking in regular body conditions without the use of A/S...when you throw that variable in there then a reaccurance may be possible.

7-14 days depending on your natural skin balance. and yes if you have never took accutane before it will get worse before it gets better!

Presciption I think varies...but the one I'm closely aware of was for 4 months. Each month you have to go back and refill along with a frontloading dosage of 50mg ed (don't quote me on that) for the first 2 weeks. I check to see what exactly it was though.

My doctor always gave me a month's supply, get bloodwork done and see her again for a fresh script. It's quite tedious but you got to do what needs to be done.

Yep I forgot about the bloodwork...you'll have it done before you get the script as well....

                      DID YOU KNOW...

In south africa they make females sign a contract that if they become pregnant while using accutane they must abort the pregnancy.

what do they look for in the blood work because i am denying using juice if he asks. if he asks how i gained all this weight i will say i quit doing drugs and have been packing on the pounds ever since.

I believe they check on your liver enzymes and such, I'm not to familiar with what exactly they check for though.

I do not believe that they will find any traces of A/S...if they do though I'm sure they will arrest you on the spot
