  • Deca and Joints

I've read that Deca is suppose to be good for joints. Curious if anyone has first hand experience with this?

I've had tendonitis in my shoulders for 12 years and it's always been a limiting factor to my upper body training. Wondering if I should add Deca to my next cycle in hopes of making it better.

    Thanks!

      Re: Deca and Joints

Well, Deca is a double benefit. The water retention is what is so good for the joints, however, that is useless to you. The other benefit is it's ability to increase tendon collagen. I have researched this extensively and there are actual medical studies that prove Deca does this. This is what will benefit you. If you have some kind of tendon issue, Deca should be able to help. However, you must keep in mind that Deca will also increase your strength, this will cause more tension on the tendon. With that said, Test over 100 mg/wk will lower collagen production. So, IMO, you should start your deca a week or two before the test so that the collagen production can take place. Keep the reps higher, like 12-15 range to take some strain off that tendon. Then, make sure you use low test levels while trying to heal a tendon. But, you do need some test to counter the shut down you will receive from the deca. It's a real catch 22. If the effects of Deca are too much on you then add EQ. EQ has an even greater impact on tendon collagen production. IMO, if you want to repair the tendons you should make EQ the base of your cycle and add small amounts of deca and test for some size and strenght, which EQ wont give you much of over the short haul. Over a long period, EQ will give you some size and strength, but not a whole lot.

      Hope that helps.

DAM you Tman...Everytime I go to answer something YOU BEAT ME TOO IT!!! LOL

I agree with all Tman wrote. I personally LOVE NPP for the joints and the lesser bloat, but Eq for long term tendon strength and repair is best, but watch the bp as well on Eq.. I will use it again inthe future for sure.

Y-Mann said it perfectly. Deca is good, but can also make it worse. It's just masking the injury, allowing you to potentially injure it more. EQ is a wonderful way to go.

Thanks everyone! I have EQ on hand and was planning on using it in my next cycle. Maybe I'll give Deca a try later on down the road.

So true. The underlying condition will re-surface once the nandrolone is out of the system.

gonna be starting npp with omadren this week and i have just recovered from getting a cortisone shot in my shoulder because the rotator got a little inflamed so i will give an honest opinion on how npp helps the joints..

I know I felt better while using deca but when I came off my shoulder hurt more and had to lay off for awhile. It may help slightly but all the added strenght I got while on was to much and things got worse. Just my experience.
