  • For those that are into martial arts.... (posted in here due to more traffic.)

How many times a week do you guys go. I work full time sometimes overtime and want to take up martial arts again at least 3-4 times a week. I wonder how much of it does it actually take out on you though? My main priority is still bodybuilding even though it is just for recreational purposes. How many of you are recreational bodybuilders that do this as well? If I take up some form of grappling mixed in with stand up combat fighting that might make it more hard for my body to recover from it's bodybuilding workouts... Fuck but I really want to get back into it as well.... Hmmmmm.....

BTW - How long are some of the classes now and are there different schedules usually for people that want to go less or more to these classes?

As for recovery your body gets used to and weekends are my time off from the gym anyhow. Good luck whatever you choose.

Did you talk to Choke03 over at MC...I'm telling you man...he is THE man to talk to about schools in NJ.
What is MC??!?! Is that a site? Sorry I'm a little slow. I will talk to him when I get the chance.

My classes usually run two hours min unless we're gettin ready for tournaments. If you are really willing to commit yourself I say go for it ! Bodybuilding, Martial Arts and startin juice etc. is'nt a casual thing you're either doin it or you're just going through the motions. As far as recovery I myself never have a problem gettin to the gym the next day unless it after a tournament. Bruising, swelling expect that to be your off days.lol Like I said why wait bro if you feel ready ya gotta be able to protect all that muscle your working on . Best of luck !

Yes, they are similar. I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and they are similar in ways. But I think they are very different. Judo is more involved with throws, BJJ is more involved with ground work, and submission techniques. Well....so to speak. You train dude?

i have just stepped my arts up to 5-6 days a week now instead of 3, so i guess i'm gonna have to lift like 3 or 4 days instead of five. unless it is ok to lift 5 days and train 5 or 6 also.
