Cortizone shots are a godsend. PERIOD. I tried aflutop and although it worked for me slightly nothing beats a cortizone shot in the shoulder...

pretend your throat is a straw and you try and suck a milk shake through it, what happens? the straw closes up. that is what your throat does with apnea.
Ok You listed the effects I listed the possible causes that effect bodybuilders/ large weight trainers.

Obesity Whether we want use that ugly word or not if we look up the definition of obesity alot of us fit it. As little as a 10% weight loss can reduce the number of apneic events for most patients. So if a 200lb person gains 20lbs while on (water muscle fat) then loses most of it at the end U have exactly what some of us are observing. We carry alot of excess weight whether it be muscle fat or water that 99% of the population doesnt carry around. The extra weight/ size is a direct contributor to apnea. A neck bigger then 17in which alot of us have is in there as well.

Edema causes high blood pressure as well as weight retention both listed with apnea causes.

According to a recent study by New England Journal of Medicine sleep apnea affects about 4% of the general population. However, when football players had sleep studies done, the percentage rose to 14% of all players. Offensive and defensive linemen had an even higher prevalence of apnea with 34%.
This is much higher than that found in the general population of a similar age, but it's really not all that surprising to anyone familiar with the sleep disorder. Although some slim people are sometimes afflicted, the majority of sleep apnea sufferers are heavy set to obese with short, thick necks - the perfect description of many football players. I think body builders in the off season or powerlifters fit in with that group nicely.

edema is a side effect too, it is caused by an underlying component so how can edema cause sleep apnea? i also stated the cause, an obstruction in your air way. that is why it is a a sleep breathing disorder and most effectivly treated as a respitory problem.
i am totally aware of who and what demographics are effected by OSA, i work in a sleep lab and run sleep studies on patients. it is the tissue that is causeing the throat to shut down unless it comes from central sleep apnea. then it is a whole new ball game.

First off i fix heavy equiptment i dont work in a sleep lab and have no medical knowledge other then some first aid training and what is relayed to me by wife. Shes a charge nurse on a hospice floor with some experience with fluid retention and breathing problems.

She says the fluid retention and weight gain from edema can be a contributing factor in people who happen to pursue our lifestyle. .
She didnt say it causes it on its own She did say when added in with the other factors it sure doesnt help.

I have a question how come when i am off my air wave magically is unrestricted?
Why is it when i am on a cpl grams of test and 15 lbs heavier all the symptoms show themselves? 7 or 8 pounds of the 15 i am sure are edema.

              Re: SINCE IVE BEEN OFF

there are several components that could be the culprit. you could be positional to where you are worse off on your back vs. on your side. i have not seen anyone that is worse on their side but what i mean is you could have just a mild case.
you could be rem dependant, where you are only bad during the rem periods of your sleep.
now with the aas part, more than likely there is more fatty tissue in your neck during the times of being on. get rid of the fat then there is more room for the air to flow freely. in your specific case, you probably only have a mild case of OSA and will be able to survive fine by useing positional therapy.
you also might not be "fine" while off vs. on just not as bad. if it is keeping you tired through the day then it is something to consult a sleep specialist about.
