Nat'l takedown day on monday!!

i advise you guys, if you have a po box, or even a mbe, not to frequent it tommorow if at all possible. I got an inside tip that tommorow is a "National Takedown Day" which i basically got the jist of the operation is to show the taxpayers the federal agencies are doing their jobs (ie Postal Inspectors, DEA, FBI etc) so their is a massive joint effort to take down people tommorow (monday). Be careful!!!

Of course, they can open someone's box, but they need a warrant to open a package or letter, and good reason to get one.

Not true. A shipper has the right to open and inspect any package suspected of containing harmful or illegal materials - no warrant required - how do you think all the siezures are taking place today? A package containing a controlled substance addressed to you or a POB that can be linked to you is probable cause for a search of you and your property. Do not start giving people false confidence with an issue this serious!

A national takedown day is exactly the king of thing a Republican administration would do to send a message. If the president is gearing up to start pushing for some new crackdown legislation this is the type of issue-ariser he may use. It would be designed to bring media attention to something the administration perceives as a serious issue - or correctly something he can score points with. I'd bet the operation would be designed to take down members of the distribution channels. I doubt they would waste thier time on small-time a-cycle-here-and-there users like me but I still do not feel comfortable at all with this!!! Did cocaine and heroine go away? I mean there aren't more important issues to deal with any more right? I mean we've definitely got to go and protect society from these steroid users right?
